Driver who reported sun in eyes strikes boy, 7, in West Valley

WEST VALLEY CITY — A 7-year-old boy was in the hospital with serious injuries Thursday after a car struck him on his way home from school.
The driver told police that glaring, low sunlight blocked the boy from view, the West Valley City Police Department said in a tweet.
The child, whose name was not released, was crossing a side street at 6000 West and 4190 South, just north of Hillside Elementary.
"Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers," the Granite School District said in a tweet
