Deliberations set to continue in comic con trademark trial

SAN DIEGO — Jury deliberations were set to continue Friday in the trademark dispute between Salt Lake Comic Con and San Diego Comic-Con International.
The four-man, three-woman jury is considering whether organizers of the popular Salt Lake convention violated San Diego's trademark when they dubbed their event a "comic con," or whether the widely used term is now too commonplace to protect.
Deliberations began Thursday afternoon, the eighth day of the trial in the dispute.
