Construction industry struggles with labor shortage

PROVO (AP) — When looking at the changing skyline of Lehi and Pleasant Grove's technology corridors, or the cranes swinging across downtown Provo, one would think the construction industry is going gangbusters.
It is, but not without its challenges.
According to research by Ken Simonson, the chief economist for the Associated General Contractors of America, the construction industry is generally very robust. Utah sits in the middle of the pack, adding about 4,000 jobs in the past year.
