3 seriously injured in crash at crosswalk near Festival of Trees

SANDY — Three adults on their way to the Festival of Trees at the South Towne Exposition Center were hit and critically injured in a crosswalk.
A 17-year-old boy driving a red Mitsubishi westbound on 9400 South failed to stop at the crossing signal's red light about 7 p.m., Sandy police reported. Witnesses told detectives the light had turned green for the pedestrians to cross near 800 East, said Sgt. Dean Carriger.
The three were taken to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition
