What is allowed under Arizona’s new cellphone driving ban

PHOENIX (KPNX) — Arizona is now a signature away from having a law that bans the use of hand-held devices while driving.
The measure comes after years of efforts to pass a statewide ban on texting while driving. More than two dozen cities had already enacted local bans.
Beginning on January 1, 2021, you may be issued a citation for up to $149 for the first violation and up to $250 for the second. Before 2021, you can be issued a warning for using a hand-held cellphone while driving.
