U.S. citizen facing drug smuggling charges

TUCSON – A U.S. citizen is facing drug smuggling charges, after authorities say she tried to smuggle nearly 75 pounds of marijuana through the Port of Naco.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers say the 27-year-old woman was at the stopped at the Port of Naco last Friday, when officers searched her Hyundai.
Authorities say they found more than 70 packages of marijuana inside the vehicle.
Officers say the drugs have an estimated value of $37,000.
