Typhoon blows across metropolitan Tokyo, disrupting travel

TOKYO (AP) — A typhoon is blowing across the Tokyo metropolitan area, disrupting travel, knocking out power and causing dozens of injuries.
Several railway and subway operators suspended services Monday morning and flights were canceled at Tokyo airports.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said the typhoon had winds of 40 meters per second (89 mph) with gusts up to 55 mps (123 mph). Just before 10 a.m., the storm was centered near Narita, east of Tokyo, and moving northeast at 25 kph (15 mph)
