Tucson to lower speed limit near midtown

The Tucson city council has voted unanimously to change the speed limit along a midtown road.
Right now the speed limit on Pima Rd. between Dodge Blvd. and Swan Rd. is 35 miles an hour. It will soon go down to 30 miles per hour.
City leaders say they made the change in an effort to cut down on the rising number of pedestrian deaths in Tucson.
However, during Tuesday night’s city council meeting, some Tucson residents spoke out against the change.
