Tucson man convicted on rape, kidnapping charges

TUCSON – A Tucson man will be sentenced next month, following his conviction on kidnapping and rape charges.
Prosecutors said Leo M. Martinez, Jr., 56, had befriended one of the adult daughters of the 67-year-old victim.
Investigators said the victim has mental and physical issues that require her to be cared for by family members.
Detectives said Martinez took the victim to a vacant house in 2016, and sexually assaulted her.
