Tucson could use 2 million more trees
According to Tucson Clean and Beautiful, its goal for 2030, is a tree canopy which covers 20 percent of Tucson's 226 square miles. Right now, it's 8 percent and falling. That means, in order to meet its goal, Tucson would need about 2 million more trees than the estimated 1.6 million it has now.
