Tucson Air National Guard installation to be renamed

162nd Wing
TUCSON – The local Air National Guard installation is going to be renamed to honor its original commander.
Maj. Gen. Donald E. Morris arrived in Tucson with 8 airmen in 1956. He led what is now the 162nd Wing at Tucson International Airport for 15 years. The unit now has about 1,900 personnel with a mission that includes F-16 pilot training and more than 80 jets.
