Town council votes to keep Oro Valley golf courses open

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. – Golf is here to stay in Oro Valley after the town council voted to keep El Conquistador and La Canada courses opened Wednesday.
Back in 2014, the town purchased the 36-hole golf courses for $1 million. For several months, a grassroots effort was working to try and keep the club opened. Advocates said they were worried that if even some golf went away, home prices could take a drastic dive.
