BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) — The case of a black Vermont legislator who resigned after racist harassment highlights the dangers politicians of color face.
The ordeal of Democratic state Rep. Kiah (KY’-uh) Morris also reinforces that even liberal bubbles like Vermont shouldn’t get too comfortable in their cloaks of inclusivity.
Morris became the state’s first black female legislator in 2014. But racist threats and harassment followed until she quit this year.
Vermont is among th
