Smith throws 3 TDs in 38-20 Gardner-Webb win

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) — Jordan Smith threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score and Gardner-Webb scored on its opening three drives to beat Presbyterian 38-20 on Saturday.
Smith hit Kyle Horton on passes of 74 and 10 yards and the Runnin’ Bulldogs (3-6, 1-1 Big South Conference) led 21-0 after he connected with Izaiah Gathings for an 8-yard score.
Gardner-Webb held the Blue Hose to 47 first-half yards rushing and finished with 479 total yards to Presbyterian’s 350.
