Shots fired report puts TUSD school in lockdown

TUCSON – A local elementary school was placed on temporary lockdown Wednesday after police received a shots fired report in the area.
According to a TUSD spokesperson, Lineweaver Elementary “was placed in hard lockdown reference to shots fired in area of school.”
The Tucson Police Department and School Safety responded to the scene.
TUSD says the lockdown transitioned into a “soft lockdown” within minutes. TPD has the suspect in custody.
