Rural Metro Fire prepares for wildfire season

TUCSON – Rural Metro Fire Department is preparing for “what might be a busy” wildfire season in southern Arizona, Battalion Chief John E. Walka said on Thursday.
In order to prepare, firefighters are required to take the “Wildland Pack” test.
“The test is intentionally stressful as it tests the capacity of muscular strength & aerobic endurance of the firefighter,” Walka said.
