Region hit hard by opioids embraces jail-based treatment
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Officials in western Massachusetts are embracing a controversial tactic amid a dramatic spike in fatal overdoses: sending men to jail for court-ordered addiction treatment.
