Physical therapy replacing opioid use

 New research suggests physical therapy may lower the risk of opioid use.
Researchers from Stanford University studied insurance claims from nearly 89,000 patients, between 2007 and 2015. Those who underwent physical therapy shortly after being diagnosed with pain in the shoulders, neck, low back or knees were less likely to use opioids in the following months. For those who ended up taking opioids they ended up using less.
