Phantom of the Deep Sea fish caught in Japan

JAPAN – People in Northern Japan were amazed at the sight of a rarely seen fish over the weekend.
During the traditional winter festival on Sado Island in the Sea of Japan, people gathered to eat fresh-caught amberjack.
But one of the fish was not an amberjack, instead it was an oarfish.
They’re known in Japan as the Phantom of the Deep Sea.
Oarfish inhabit the Pacific Rim from the tropics to subtropics and was about seven feet long.
Experts said little is known about the oarfish.
