Over 100 cacti moved from Organ Pipe National Park due to border construction

AJO, Ariz. – Cacti at Organ Pipe National Park have been relocated so that more space is available for border wall construction this week.The construction sparked outrage when videos that showed a cactus being bulldozed on protected land were posted on social media.
Over 100 cacti have been moved from their original location since Oct. 4. Some people believe this construction is causing harm to the environment by killing the species that Organ Pipe National Monument was meant to protect.
