Officials award $324M contract to replace border fencing
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Officials have awarded a contract to replace 14 miles (22.53 kilometers) of pedestrian fencing along the border near Yuma.
Customs and Border Protection officials announced Thursday that the agency, along with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, awarded the $324 million contract to Barnard Construction Company of Bozeman, Montana.
Construction is expected to begin in April.
