Monsoon Dust Project

ARIZONA – The State of Arizona is hoping a new dust detection system will help keep drivers safe during monsoon.Arizona Department of Transportation will be widening sections of Interstate-10 for a project aimed at reducing dust-related crashes.It includes a set of long-range radars near Picacho Peak, that can detect approaching dust storms from 50 miles away.
Electronic billboards will also be installed to display warning messages based on visibility in the area.
