Mexican national charged in $32K meth smuggling attempt

TUCSON – A Mexican national is facing criminal charges, after authorities said he tried to smuggle eleven pounds of methamphetamine across the U.S./Mexico border.
Investigators said the 24-year-old man from Nogales, Sonora was stopped last Saturday morning at the DeConcini crossing, when a drug-sniffing dog alerted to the rear quarter panel of the man’s Ford SUV.
Authorities said the meth hidden inside the vehicle has a value of more than $32,000.
