Mayo’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer gives Eastern Kentucky win

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — Nick Mayo hit a contested 3-pointer as time ran out to complete a comeback from a 23-point deficit and Eastern Kentucky edged High Point 70-69 on Saturday.
High Point’s Brandonn Kamga made a free throw with nine seconds left but missed a second with the ball going out of bounds. After a lengthy review, the ball was given to EKU (4-4) and Mayo made his winning shot as he fell backward under heavy pressure. Until Mayo’s winning shot, the Pirates had not le
