Man pleads guilty for killing NPD officer to avoid death penalty

NOGALES – A man accused of shooting and killing a Nogales police officer back in 2018 pleaded guilty in connection to the case.
Back on April 27, 2018, officer Jesus Cordova was killed in the line of duty after he responded to an alleged armed carjacking. According to officials, David Murillo allegedly fired a gun at Cordova multiple times after he was pulled over in connection to the incident.
Cordova later succumbed to his injuries sustained in the shooting.
