Local math teacher honored with Presidential Award

TUCSON- Some Arizona teachers were recognized by President Donald Trump as recipients of Presidential Awards.
Empire High School math teacher Nicole Whitt was one of the four recipients of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.“I was pretty shocked,” said Whitt. “I think I read the email three different times to make sure what I was reading was true and then my husband was upstairs when I got the email so I and I ran up and told him.”
