Lawsuit aims to speed up election for McCain’s seat

TUCSON – A federal lawsuit has been filed against Gov. Doug Ducey and Sen. Jon Kyl, aiming to speed up the special election for the late John McCain’s Senate seat.
That election is set for 2020, and Kyl has been appointed to fill the seat in the interim. Ducey would once again need to fill the seat if Kyl resigned before that election.
