Kroger closing two Calif. stores over hazard pay law

(CNN) - Kroger says its closing two of its Long Beach, Calif. stores because of a new law that requires them to pay workers more.The law, which passed last month, says grocers with at least 300 employees nationwide have to pay their workers an extra $4 per hour in hazard pay, for at least four months.
The ordinance cites the risks of working during the coronavirus pandemic as the reason for they pay hike.
