Jury awards New Jersey homeowners compensation in dune cases

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. (AP) — Juries have awarded homeowners in one New Jersey shore town over a half-million dollars in compensation for some of their beachfront property being used to build a protective sand dune project.
The owners of two homes in Point Pleasant Beach, which was hard-hit by Superstorm Sandy in 2012, were awarded over $590,000 by juries.
The most recent verdict came Thursday when a couple was awarded $330,000 for the loss of beachfront property and oceanfront views.
