Judge accepts misdemeanor plea deal in Tumpkin assault case

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — A judge has accepted a proposed misdemeanor plea deal in the domestic violence case involving former Colorado assistant football coach Joe Tumpkin.
Tumpkin was charged with five counts of second-degree assault and three counts of third-degree assault involving his ex-girlfriend, Pamela Fine. But prosecutors have offered him a deal in which Tumpkin would plead guilty to one count of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
