John Loose promoted to defensive coordinator at West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — John Loose has been promoted to defensive coordinator at Army.
He had been a defensive assistant and succeeds Jay Bateman, who became North Carolina’s defensive coordinator after the regular season. The move was announced Friday by coach Jeff Monken.
Loose was the interim coordinator during Army’s 70-14 victory over Houston in the Armed Forces Bowl last month. The Black Knights had 10 sacks.
