Jets release guard/center Spencer Long after 1 season

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Jets have released offensive lineman Spencer Long, saving the team almost $6.5 million on next season’s salary cap.
Long was due a $3 million roster bonus that would have become guaranteed Wednesday. The Jets opted instead to cut him Tuesday after he struggled with injuries and consistency at center before moving to left guard.
