Infant abandoned at Trident Medical Center

An infant born at Trident Medical Center on Aug. 25 was abandoned and placed under Safe Haven protection with medical professionals, according to the Charleston County Department of Social Services.  The child falls under the jurisdiction of "Daniel's Law" also known as the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act.  The baby is black, weighs seven pounds, six ounces and is 21 inches long.
