India security official: Despite death, Kashmir peaceful

NEW DELHI (AP) — India’s top security official says that the death of a 19-year-old man wounded with pellets fired by security forces in Kashmir was unfortunate, but demonstrates that the crackdown that has been in place in the restive Himayalan region for more than a month has largely been peaceful.
National Security Adviser Ajit Doval said Saturday in New Delhi that “if there’s one incident that has taken place, that’s good.”
Asrar Ahmed Khan died on Tuesday
