CHENEY, Wash. (AP) — Ty Gibson’s 3-pointer with 3:58 remaining in overtime put Eastern Washington up for good and the Eagles got their first win of the season with an 87-80 victory over UMKC on Saturday.
Eastern Washington’s Jesse Hunt buried a 3-pointer at the buzzer to end regulation and force the extra session, tying it at 69-all. Rob Whitfield made a pair of free throws with 10 seconds to go to give UMKC (0-5) a 69-66 lead.
