Gold falls, Silver falls

NEW YORK (AP) — The September gold contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange closed today at $1,499.10 an ounce — down $8.80.
The current silver contract on the “NYMEX” closed at $17.55 an ounce — down 26 cents.
