Former Tucson businessman sent to prison in auto loan scheme

TUCSON – Federal authorities say a Tucson man has been sentenced to three years in prison for his role in a loan scheme.
Andrew May, 46, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and bank fraud.
Investigators say May used his shell companies to engage in the fraudulent enterprise.
Authorities alleged May and his co-conspirators told lenders that they were in the business of buying and selling vehicles, to obtain financing from a number of financial institutions.
