Former NY state Senate leader gets prison
NEW YORK (AP) — Former New York state Senate leader Dean Skelos (SKEH’-lohs) has been sentenced to 4 years and 3 months in prison after his conviction on public corruption charges.
Judge Kimba Wood announced the penalty for the longtime Republican powerbroker on Wednesday.
Skelos and his son Adam were convicted in July for a second time on charges of extortion, wire fraud and bribery. Their first convictions were rejected on appeal after the U.S. Supreme Court narrowed public corrupt
