Feinstein’s opponent seizes on her role in Kavanaugh fight

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Sen. Dianne Feinstein is facing criticism from both Republicans and her Democratic re-election opponent over her handling of allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Feinstein received a letter earlier this summer from a constituent accusing Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her at a party more than thirty years ago. The allegations didn’t begin to surface publicly until last week.
