Feathered ‘pterodactyl’ makes a stop at Canoa Ranch lake

TUCSON – A pterodactyl in Pima County?!?!
While it may look like a terrifying, flying dinosaur at first glance, Pima County officials confirmed that this flying creature is a lot less concerning.
On Tuesday morning, local birders and the staff at Historic Canoa Ranch spotted a frigatebird soaring overhead the nearby lake.
We had a rare sighting at the Canoa Ranch lake today! A juvenile Magnificent Frigatebird was seen by local birders and our staff!
