Ex-Christie aide facing new sentencing in bridge scandal
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A onetime aide to former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is facing resentencing for her role in the George Washington Bridge lane-closing scandal.
Bridget Kelly is due in court Wednesday in Newark. She and Bill Baroni were convicted in 2016 in what prosecutors said was a plot to cause traffic jams near the bridge to punish a mayor who wouldn’t endorse Christie’s reelection.
Last fall, a federal appeals court tossed some of the counts against Kelly and Baroni
