‘Damned if you do’: Alabama’s Jones in a bind on impeachment

HANCEVILLE, Ala. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Doug Jones of Alabama is headed into a tough election fight that he wants to keep focused on his record.
But he may have to talk about impeachment.
Already considered the Senate’s most endangered Democrat, the impeachment inquiry is adding a new complication to the Deep South race.
Seeing an opportunity, Republicans have tried to ramp up the pressure on Jones, asking that he say how he’ll vote if the issue ever lands in the Senate.
