Cody Anderson, Indians agree at $641,250, avoid arbitration

CLEVELAND (AP) — Indians right-hander Cody Anderson has avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract for $641,250.
Anderson, who hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2016 and is trying to make a comeback from elbow surgery, made the $545,000 minimum this year. The Indians are hoping the 28-year-old can rebound to give them starting depth or fill a bullpen spot.
