CHICAGO (AP) — Negotiations between Chicago leaders and the teachers’ union over COVID-19 safety protocols have stretched into Wednesday evening, days after city officials threatened a lockout and teachers entertained a strike. The fight to reopen Chicago Public Schools, which went remote last March, has been brewing for months.
