CBS takes weekly Nielsen crown behind ’60 Minutes’
NEW YORK (AP) — CBS won the weekly television ratings crown despite being without the most valuable ratings commodity in this era, a prime-time football game.
Relatively lackluster games on rivals NBC and Fox helped CBS win. The most popular game was the “Monday Night Football” matchup between Seattle and San Francisco on ESPN. It was a rare week where a cable program topped the Nielsen company’s ratings.
