Body found in desert near Benson

On Tuesday June 26, 2018 at approximately 3:00 am, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of an unattended death near the Amerind Foundation off of Dragoon Road east of Benson. The call was received from US Border Patrol who advised that they had received a call from an Illinois law enforcement agency regarding a male subject who had called a family there, telling them that their brother was left in the Arizona desert and somehow provided coordinates for his location.
