Arizona utility to install large battery for solar plant

PHOENIX (AP) — A utility cooperative in the Phoenix area has announced plans to boost its solar power battery storage as part of a pledge to add 1,000 megawatts to its supply by 2025.
Salt River Project announced plans to add a new 250-megawatt project called Sonoran Energy Center with storage near Buckeye by June 2023.
A megawatt could supply power for about 250 homes at once.
