Air pollution sending people with asthma to the emergency room
TUCSON – Air pollution may be the reason a million people who are suffering from asthma are going to the emergency room.
George Washington University researchers found up to 33 million asthma patients visit the hospital each year. Researchers say countries should enact policies that would help clean air, such as targeting car emission in large cities.
Approximately 358 million people in the world suffer from asthma. That makes it the most common chronic respiratory disease.
