11-year-old succumbs to injuries after struck by SUV

TUCSON – The child who was critically injured after she was struck by a vehicle on the west side Sunday night has died, Tucson Police Department announced Thursday afternoon.
At around 7:40 p.m. Sunday, 11-year-old Belen Mejia-Renteria was struck by an SUV at 3333 N. Flowing Wells Rd. near Mohave Road while she was crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk with a HAWK pedestrian signal.
