1 dead after head-on crash on Gila River Indian Community

PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say one person is dead after a head-on car crash west of Phoenix that involved a deputy from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy was taken to a hospital Monday with unspecified injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, but authorities say one person in the other vehicle died at the scene and another was injured.
The name and age of the person who was killed wasn’t immediately released.
